FOOTBALL FAQ: 

1) When do practices start?

Our first practice for the Fall 2022 season will start the first week of August. Your coach will provide more specifics on exact dates, times, and locations.

2) How many hours of practice does my child need to be eligible?

Tackle football players are required to have a total of 20 hours; 10 hours of non-contact practice and 10 hours of contact practice before they are eligible to play in games.

3) Where are practices held?

Due to construction at Wellwood Middle School, the 2022 practices/games will be held behind Fayetteville-Manlius High School. They will be at the Pride Lane Fields (facing N Eagle Village Rd).

4) What team will my child play on?

The FM Pop Warner Board will evaluate player registration numbers as well as your child's age for team placement. This process can last a few weeks into August while teams are forming.

5) What equipment do I need?

We ask parents to purchase a 5 piece girdle for their tackle football player. Cleats are not required, but are highly recommended. Water bottles, extra mouth guards, football gloves, and carrying bag are other suggestions to make the most out of the program.

6) When/where is equipment pickup?

July 26th 5-7 pm;
July 31st 5-7pm;
August 1st 5-7pm.

Wellwood Middle School. It's the parking lot near the bus garage.

7) What equipment will we receive at equipment pickup?

Each tackle football player will receive the following:

-helmet with chin strap and mouth guard piece

-shoulder pads

-practice pants with knee pads

-practice jersey

-guardian cap for Helmet

-players will receive the game uniform later in August

8) What days of the week are practices?

Tackle practices Tuesday, Wednesday, & Thursday from 6-8 pm

Flag practices Tuesday & Thursdays

9) When do games start/end?

Games typically start around Labor Day in September and run for 7-8 weeks, typically ending around mid October. Tackle teams have the possibility of making it into the playoffs, which can go longer.

10) Where do we play games?

Games will take place at different locations around CNY. Check with your coaches. Field addresses can also be found on the website.

11) What if my child does not meet the Pop Warner Scholastic Requirement of minimum 70% or 2.0 GPA ? What if my child is home schooled? What if my child is under 6 and does not have a report card?

If your child does not meet the scholastic requirement, you need to complete the Scholastic Eligibility Form. Refer to the Registration page and ensure to include this as part of your registration.

If your child is home schooled, there is a separate form for this. Please email us at [email protected] with your specific request, and we will provide you the form.

Lastly, if your child is under 6 and does not have a report card, please email us at [email protected] of your situation and we will try to work with you.

CHEER FAQ:

1) Do we compete?

Yes! All cheer teams compete at our local competition at the SRC Arena. Mitey Mite and Junior Pee Wee cheer teams are eligible to advance to Regional Competition in New Jersey.

2) Do we travel?

Yes! Aside from game travel, Mitey Mite and Junior Pee Wee cheer teams are eligible to travel for other competitions.

3) How much does it cost?

The price varies for each competition. Parents are required to pay for their own event tickets and hotel accommodations.
